Ranui is a suburb of Waitakere City. It is located about 10 kilometres from central Waitakere and 18 kilometres from central Auckland.

It is a popular area because of its location near central Auckland, with many residents commuting into the city for work on a daily basis. Ranui contains a wide range of shops in the immediate area, including a small supermarket, a pharmacy, a service station, specialty stores, doctor’s offices and two takeaways. Ranui is home to the Ranui Domain and the Pooks Reserve, both excellent spots for outdoor activities.
