About Omokoroa & Surrounds

This page includes sales for Omokoroa, Pahoia, Te Puna, and Whakamarama suburbs.

Ōmokoroa is a sought-after area for coastal living in the Western Bay of Plenty.

Set on a long peninsula in the Tauranga Harbour, it has transformed over the years from the sleepy holiday spot to a thriving lifestyle area with a mix of residential, industrial, small landholdings and some retail. Ōmokoroa translates from Maori legend as 'the place of the long lizard'. The Ōmokoroa to Tauranga 17km Cycle Trail is part of the New Zealand Cycle Trail network and provides a safe and recreational link between the peninsular and Tauranga City.
Te Puna village intersects SH2 from Katikati to Tauranga and is a mix of industrial, commercial, retail and residential activity, including the Te Puna Business Park. A popular attraction is the Minden Lookout at 286 metres above sea level, this viewing point delivers unobstructed views along the Bay of Plenty coast and out to sea, over orchards, farmland, hill country and the suburbs of Tauranga.
In addition, the Te Puna Quarry Park – a vast rock garden transformed from a disused rock quarry to a local treasure. Covering about 32 hectares, the quarry park is a myriad of walking tracks, waterways and art. From the higher points, there are stunning coastal views extending from the Coromandel to the eastern Bay.
