Mount Roskill is a suburban area in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. It is named for the volcanic peak Puketāpapa (commonly called "Mount Roskill" in English).
It is located in the south of the Auckland isthmus, approximately seven kilometres to the south of the Auckland city centre and is surrounded by the neighbouring suburbs of Three Kings, Sandringham, Wesley, Hillsborough and Mount Albert. The Mount Roskill shops are located at the intersection of Mount Albert and Dominion Roads.
It offers a charming and well-established slice of suburbia with ethnic diversity and has a wide range of properties available from family-friendly brick and weatherboard homes with generous backyards to a good selection of townhouses and flats.
Mt Roskill also has excellent schools - including the highly rated Mt Roskill Grammar School and well-regarded Mt Roskill Primary and Intermediate schools, Hillsborough Primary and Lynfield College. Sports enthusiasts will find two local golf courses, a large selection of sports clubs, recreation centres, pools, parks and reserves.
