Greenhithe is a suburb of North Shore City and is located 11 kilometres outside of central North Shore City, 20 kilometres from central Auckland. It borders Lucas Creek and Hellyers Creek with Albany to the north east and Hobsonville to the south west.
Greenhithe has shown dramatic growth since the North Shore City Council determined that Greenhithe was to be a major growth area. Where once the typical section size was a quarter- to half an acre, the newer subdivisions of Wainoni, Admiral's Court and more have reduced that to around 600m2 (with a quarter acre being a shade over 1000m2).
Greenhithe is a lovely community with many homes in the area that are built on large sections, commanding views of the sea. Greenhithe has its share of natural sites, including Orchard Reserve, Collins Park and Wainoni Park South. Greenhithe also has a war memorial reserve. The suburb contains a small variety of specialty shops as well as access to a range of necessary amenities, making it largely self sufficient. There are a few dining opportunities available as well, including the popular ‘the Malthouse’.
