Blockhouse Bay is a suburb of Auckland. It is located on the north coast of the Manukau Harbour and is about 11 kilometres outside of central Auckland. It is neighboured by Lynfield, New Windsor, New Lynn and Green Bay and was named for the blockhouse constructed in its locale. The area was a popular holiday resort in the 1920s for Aucklanders, with families making the journey over rough roads to spend the summer at the beach.

Today, the local shopping centre in Blockhouse Bay has several amenities including banks, cafes, doctor's surgeries, a dentist surgery, an optometrist, a veterinary clinic, hairdressing salon, clothing stores, travel agent, bakery, and a supermarket. There are several good schools in the area and there is easy access to all of the outdoor lifestyle activities available throughout the western region including the Waitakere Ranges and West Coast Beaches.
