Red Beach is situated on the Hibiscus Coast, at the base of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula and approximately 40km north of the centre of Auckland. The adjoining suburbs of Silverdale/Millwater are to the south-west, and Orewa to the north. The beach is on the Hauraki Gulf and the suburb is bounded by two estuaries.

The area is popular with families who take advantage of the safe, 2km beach and all the lifestyle options in the area. The area has good access along the East Coast to adjoining suburbs and is in close proximity to the Northern Motorway for access to the CBD and airport to the South.
