Mangawhai is a township at the south-west extent of the Mangawhai Harbour, or Mangawhai Estuary, on Northlands beautiful east coast. Around 80 minutes drive north of Auckland City and 45 minutes south of Whangarei.

Mangawhai Village is a thriving collection of shops, galleries and cafes and Mangawhai Heads, 5 km north-east, is a tranquil lagoon-style harbour with sand dunes and a surf beach.

You’ll find beautiful beaches, such as Forestry, Te Arai and Waipu Cove, just around the corner and the Hen and Chicken islands are also in easy reach.

The Mangawhai Activity Zone (MAZ) project is bringing even more recreational activities to the area, including a skateboard bowl, mountain bike tracks and walking tracks.
