Murrays Bay is a small suburb in Auckland's East Coast Bays region. The suburb is roughly the same size as Rothesay Bay, the suburb to the immediate north. It is primarily a residential area but does have a community centre, restaurant and café. Murrays Bay is regularly serviced by buses which go to Takapuna and Auckland City.

Murrays Bay Intermediate is an intermediate (years 7-8) school, Murrays Bay School is a contributing primary (years 1-6). ] Both schools are coeducational, share a site, and were established in 1958.

Murrays Bay itself is a sought after suburb because of its position overlooking the beach as well as the executive family homes that dominate the area. Many homes in the area are modern developments, and most command brilliant views of the surrounding seaside. Murrays Bay is a lovely community with a community centre, a restaurant and a takeaway. The suburb contains a local park with great outdoor activities, as well as beach access with wonderful fishing spots as well as some safe swimming and a sailing club. There is a walkway to Rothesay Bay and Mairangi Bay and the beach has a wharf that people jump off and fish in the Spring/Summer.
