About Manukau & Surrounds

This page includes sales for Manukau Central, Clover Park, Goodwood Heights, Totara Heights, Randwick Park and The Gardens.

The name Manukau, from the Manukau Harbour west of the city, is of Māori origin, and means 'wading birds', although it has been suggested that the name of the harbour was also sometimes rendered as Mānuka, meaning a marker post with which an early chief is said to have claimed the area. The harbour has three main arms. The Mangere Inlet at the northeast lies close to Auckland's central city area, with the inner suburbs of Onehunga and Te Papapa situated close to its northern shore. The area has experienced rapid growth in recent years and has a vast range of shopping and lifestyle option on offer. Adjacent to many recreational facilities, the area is a popular location for familes with good schools and easy access to the motorway to the CBD and further afield.
