Henderson is a major suburb of Auckland, located 13 kilometres to the west of the city centre, and two kilometres to the west of the Whau River, a southwestern arm of the Waitemata Harbour.

The Henderson train station has undergone developments to allow for a second track, and a bus depot to be named “Baby Britomart” is planned for the near future.
