Birkdale is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. Adjoining suburbs include Northcote, Chatswood and Beach Haven. Birkdale is a growing residential suburb with a mix of homes throughout the area. Birkdale is semi-rural with some small farms still functioning in the area, though most of the suburb is dominated by homes from the 1950s onwards. Birkdale is in a great location with local access to takeaways, dairies and shops, while Westfield Glenfield and Highbury shopping are just a short drive away. Both locations offer designer and mainstream shopping and various dining opportunities.

Schools in the area incude Birkenhead College, Birkdale Intermediate and Birkdale North School and Birkdale Primary Schools. All of these schools are coeducational.
